LEGAL ADVICE

The Clerk of Circuit Court's Office is committed to quality public service. However, we are prohibited by law from giving legal advice, restating the law, recommending legal action or interpreting legal requirements. We cannot give advice about the content of documents or ensure that the parties comply with filing requirements, including if all of the required documents are filed. The Clerk's Office can assist with payment and processing the documents presented.

It is not the intention of this office, nor of this website, to offer legal solutions. People who choose to proceed pro se (act as their own attorney) may find it difficult. We strongly encourage people to seek legal counsel from an attorney licensed in Virginia.
